Several of Centre College's past presidents are buried in Danville's Bellevue Cemetery. These include John C. Young, who successfully guided the college during the early nineteenth century, and Lewis Warner Green, who died from an illness in May 1863 after helping sick Union soldiers. Green's funeral was reputedly the largest that the town had ever seen. Courtesy the Kentucky Historical Society.
