The Reverend Robert J. Breckinridge likely preached at the Danville Presbyterian Church on a regular basis. In addition to being a founder of the Danville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Breckinridge was the editor of the "Danville Quarterly Review," a pro-Union journal published in town during the Civil War.
