Adjacent to the Kentucky Historical Society marker for Twitty's Fort, and three other KHS markers, is one of 14 markers placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1915 commemorating the accomplishment of Daniel Boone in blazing Boone Trace in 1775. The two types of markers indicate that two independent organizations have corroborated each other in recognizing the historical significance of Boone Trace in the past century.
