This 1850s lithograph depicts the 1776 capture of Jemima Boone and Betsey and Fanny Callaway by Shawnee Indians near Sycamore Hollow on the Kentucky River. The girls were later rescued by Daniel Boone and a party of his men. Courtesy of the Kentucky Historical Society.
